Grid calendars make you work for it

Most calendars are built around a grid of little boxes. That’s fine for spotting a free day – but not for actually reading what’s coming up.

  • Details stay hidden. You click into every day, week or month to see what’s really in it.
  • Clunky forms. Adding a simple entry means fields, pop-ups and dropdowns.
  • No pasting. You can’t just paste a whole block of dates, like the school term calendar.
  • Retyping every year. Birthdays and renewals get re-entered again and again.
  • Your history isn’t yours. Years of entries locked in an app you don’t control.

One column. Everything in it.

ScrollCal lists every day down the page, so you read your diary the way you read a feed – just keep scrolling.

See it all at once

The All Entries column combines single events, recurring series, next-date reminders and bulk entries – so each day shows everything in one place.

Type, paste or import

Type straight into the day, paste whole blocks of dates, or import .ics and .vcs files from Google, Apple or Outlook calendars.

Enter once, repeats forever

Next-date recurring entries for things like birthdays and insurance renewals – type them once and they keep coming round.

Recurring series made simple

  • Daily, weekly, monthly or yearly
  • Custom intervals
  • Nth weekday, e.g. the third Friday
  • Delete a whole series in one go

Your history kept

Past days are archived automatically to a Past Events sheet, so your record is never lost and the main view stays tidy.

It’s yours

  • An Excel file you own and keep
  • Customise colours, fonts and sizes
  • Sheet protected against accidental damage
  • Upgrade by importing data from an older version

On your phone, too

Save ScrollCal to OneDrive and you can read all your entries on your phone – and share the file with family or colleagues.

Works on mobile

Reading all your entries, and quick typed entries straight into a day.

Needs desktop Excel

Recurring series, imports and the automatic archive run on macros, so they need desktop Excel with macros enabled.

Is ScrollCal right for you?

An honest checklist, so you know before you buy.

You’ll need

  • Desktop Excel on Windows or Mac
  • Macros enabled for the file

It isn’t

  • For Excel Online, or with macros switched off – it won’t work properly there
  • A meeting-scheduling tool – it doesn’t cross-check other people’s availability
